Get Off My Lawn.
Get Fit While You’re At It.

Much more of the fitness industry is on your side than it may seem. But many of the people who work hardest at putting themselves out there to attract business also sell solutions and plans meant for narrow subsets of the population, while talking as if all of us can and should exercise the same way.

It’s a bit like telling everyone to wear the same size shirt and pants. You CAN. But some of you will be squeezed to death or chafing painfully; others will drown in excess, unnecessary fabric. And forget whether the clothes are right for your climate or your place of work. One size fits all … not!

If you know you want to pursue physical health but can’t find yourself amid the sea of big muscles, low body fat percentages, or carefully edited pictures, it’s possible my experiences will benefit you.

Live in the Boston area? Visiting? I do in-person coaching at Rx Strength Training in East Somerville! You might want to check it out even if you don’t train with me. It’s a friendly community of exercise nuts who are serious about working out, but not big into ego. There’s a little of everything available, from traditional racks-n-plates and other old-school free weights, to powerlifting to Olympic lifting to kettlebells to strongman equipment and more. The Rx site will show you the options.

“Pete is an awesome coach. He helped me get back on track with exercise after a multi-year hiatus brought on by the pandemic. Even though I live across the country from him, he worked with me to find a workout time that would work for my schedule, and then joined me in my home garage gym via video call. Pete designed workouts based on my strength training goals and helped me progressively increase the weights I lifted as I got stronger. He helped me with form and to not cheat myself by doing fewer reps than I am supposed to do (on my own I would often give up!). Pete truly helped me get excited anew about working out and got me to the point where I am motivated to work out on my own. He is kind and encouraging, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for help to get fit!”
